homemade nut butter
Peanut butter has to be one of the greatest creations of all time. In an effort to cut down on unnecessary sugar, I decided to make my own peanut butter and see how it turned out.
It's amazing. And so easy to make.
It's been hard not to eat the entire jar in just a few days. Please go make it immediately. There will only be happiness.
homemade peanut butter
16 oz roasted unsalted peanuts
1 tbsp canola oil (optional)
2-3 tbsp vanilla extract (optional)
1 tbsp honey (optional)
- Add peanuts to your food processor, and let it run for about five minutes. During this time, you'll see the peanuts go from crushed, to a cruncy mess, to a dough-looking ball that rolls around - and then finally, smooth, amazing peanut butter. If you're familiar with natural nut butters, you'll be happy with how it is at this point. If it's too dry for your tastes, add the canola oil and honey, and run it again for a few minutes. I like a slight vanilla taste in mine so I add vanilla as well. Be as creative as you'd like!
That's it. That's all there is.
Go forth and prosper.
